11-20 Cabernet Sauvignon

The 11-20 blend is the unique combination of old with new- 60% 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Bragg Vineyards (Aged 10 years in the barrel) with 40% 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon from the Rutherford bench (aged 18 months in the barrel). The experiment and objective was to freshen up the 2011 with the 2020 and to bring fruit forward to the 2020. As a result this blend is smooth across the palate with a unique but full body finish. This blend is one of a kind never to be duplicated. Only 120 cases were produced!

2018 Mario’s Vineyard

The 2018 vintage demonstrates a maturity and elegance that highlights the unique qualities of a Calistoga Appellation 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Over the palate it is smooth from start to finish. Full bodied and complex, the wine has a hint of oak which compliments the chocolate and berry flavors. As is our signature process this Cabernet was aged in the barrel for 3 years and laid down in glass for 12 months before release. Mario’s Vineyard consists of 2 acres of planted Cabernet Sauvignon. Only 50 cases were produced!

2018 Padre’s Vineyard

This Padre’s Cabernet was aged in 25% New French Oak and 75% Neutral Oak for 36 months. The wine then rested in glass (bottled) for a year before being released. Producing a Cabernet Sauvignon with well rounded tannins and balanced acidity! The 2018 has all the characteristics of a Bragg Vineyards Cabernet: ready to enjoy but only gets better with time!

2017 Mario’s Vineyard

This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon has a wonderful hedonistic perfume of roses, chocolate, and anise over a core of cassis, blueberries and blackberry pie, plus wafts of tobacco and leather. Full-bodied and beautifully structured with ripe fine-grained tannins, it has vivacious fruit and a long, fragrant finish! The 2018 Mario’s Vineyard Cabernet was selected as the number one wine in the Calistoga AVA by Pierre DuMont Piedmont Post. Sold out

2017 Padre’s Vineyard

Due to its limited production Bragg Vineyards extends the aging process with mostly neutral French or Hungarian Oak barrels, thus controlling the oak flavor. We want people to taste the wine not be overwhelmed with oak. As noted we meticulous rack and consistently top our wines to assures that they will stay vibrant and relatively oxygen free allowing it to mature naturally in a barrel instead of a bottle. The 2017 Padre’s is yet another example of why longer barrel aging is better! Sold Out

2016 Mario’s Vineyard

Mario’s Vineyard consists of 2 acres and is adjacent to Padre’s Vineyard. It has a different rootstock and different cone from that of Padre’s Vineyard, making the wine produced on this vineyard distinct from Padre’s Vineyard, even though each vineyard shares the same soil and climate. The 2016 Mario’s Vineyard cabernet is bolder and more fruit forward, making its cellar life longer. However, like all of the Bragg wines it can be enjoyed from release date due to its longer aging process in the cellar. And, of course, it only gets better with time! Sold Out

2016 Padre’s Vineyard

The 2016 Padre’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a an outstanding example of a young, refreshing and bold wine. It is a cabernet to enjoy now but will be outstanding with age. It demonstrates what the Bragg family has attempted to consistently produce, a cabernet that can be enjoyed from release date and up through its flavor plateau. Padre’s Vineyard is only one acre of planted vines making it unique and special. Sold out

2015 Padre’s Vineyard

2015 was voted one of the top 10 Wines in the Calistoga AVA. As is our traditional practice this wine is aged in barrels for 36 months and allowed to rest in the bottle for 12 months before being released to the the public. “This wine exhibits a dark purple color, sweet, jammy, black-currant-scented nose. The lush, juicy succulent, layered texture showing great extract“. Sold Out

2014 Padre’s Vineyard

2014 was aged as its predecessors were – 36 months in the barrel and over a year in the bottle before being release. Sold out!

2013 Padre’s Vineyard

Like the 2012 this vintage was aged in barrels (25% New French Oak and 75% Neutral Oak) for 36 months. The wine then rested in glass (bottled) for a year before being released. 2012 Padre’s Vineyard

We have high expectations for the 2012 vintage. It already demonstrates a maturity and elegance that highlights the unique qualities of a Calistoga Appellation 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Over the palate it is smooth from start to finish. Full bodied and complex, the wine has a hint of oak which compliments the natural flavors. This Cabernet was aged in the barrel for 3 years and laid down in a bottle for 12 months before release.  2012 was, and will continue to be, a very good year!! Sold Out

2011 Padre’s Vineyard

2011 was a challenging season. Mother Nature demonstrated her versatility by exposing the grapes to a variety of weather conditions. However, these conditions made the grapes struggle, which in turn produced wine with a complex array of flavors and a smooth finish. The wine remained in barrels for over 3 years. We are very proud of the 2011 vintage and believe it will become a customer favorite! Sold out

2010 Padre’s Vineyard

This wine was also aged in barrels for 3 years. Due to its limited production Bragg Vineyards extends the aging process with mostly neutral French Oak barrels, thus controlling the oak flavor. Most wineries age Cabernet in barrels for 18 to 24 months. Meticulous racking and consistent topping assures that the wine will stay vibrant and relatively oxygen free allowing it to mature naturally in a barrel instead of a bottle. The 2010 Padre’s is a perfect example of why longer in the barrel is better! Sold out

Mario’s Vineyard was originally planted in 1983. The 2009 vintage was its last year before being ripped and replanted.  The final harvest from this mature vineyard has produced a big Cabernet Sauvignon that continues to get better with time. One of  distinct characteristics of Bragg Vineyards is that they produce wines that have well rounded tannins and balanced acidity.  Mario’s 2009 is no exception, it is bold but subtle and smooth over the palate. One of the winemaker’s favorites. Sold Out!

2008 Padre’s Vineyard

Crushing
Crushing

Complex and bold, the 2008 vintage was aged in barrels for 3 years. 2008 was the year of the frost in the Napa Valley. As a result, Bragg Vineyards lost approximately 80% of its crop due to the frost. Given this harsh weather these grapes were naturally stressed, producing outstanding flavor. The 2008 vintage will stand the test of time and age gracefully. Sold out!
